THE SOLUTION

Judicious consulting

We provided judicious advice and guided Vibram along its path of change one step at a time. This was achieved by analysing the products and processes, evaluating the market position with respect to competitors in terms of sustainability, planning short, medium and long-term actions, a communications plan to raise awareness among employees and customers, monitoring the results and drafting a new code of ethics. The sustainability plan is called “The Sustainable Way” and is based on six pillars: sustainable product innovation, procedure reorganisation, energy efficiency, reappraisal of the supply chain, improved, circular waste management, focus on stakeholders.

THE RESULTS

Strategy to boost commitment to sustainability

The complex, multifaceted strategy has paid off and has helped Vibram to improve its commitment to sustainability by applying each of the six pillars across all its countries of operation. The action plan and the results were then effectively and extensively communicated both to the general public and, more importantly, to the company’s employees. The company raised awareness through a dedicated Sustainability Day, as well as information displays, specific articles published on the company’s intranet, and film discussions. They also rolled out initiatives ranging from separate waste collection in the offices, to corporate volunteering and charity actions.
